Ball Mastery

For players looking to get a little more work on the ball, RHSC is offering our Ball Mastery Program. This program offers very specific technical training designed to help players master their advanced ball skills. Each player will be working with a soccer ball for the majority of the session and taking part in activities designed to help them gain confidence on the ball. Players will progess through three levels of the program: Ball Mastery Introduction, Ball Mastery Intermediate, and Ball Mastery Advanced.

BALL MASTERY INTRODUCTION

For Boys and Girls ages 6 to 9 years old.

This individual player development program can be added to an existing RHSC program that the young player is registered for, as it focusses on developing the individual players’ technical skill in a non-team environment.

During the practice each young player will be exposed to a variety of skills and techniques that will improve their comfort and confidence in manipulating the soccer ball.

The boys and girls will see improvement in the following skills; Physical Literacy, eye to ball coordination, ball control, using the inside and outside of both feet, using the sole of the foot, dribbling and juggling.

Each player will get an opportunity to apply these skills in a game environment towards the end of each practice. This competitive, learning environment will allow the young player to experience and practice their decision-making skills.

On successful completion of the program each player will receive a Ball Master Diploma. This diploma will allow the player to be eligible for the next stage in the Ball Mastery Program, Ball Mastery Intermediate.

BALL MASTERY INTERMEDIATE

For Boys and Girls ages 7 to 10 years old who have successfully completed Ball Mastery Introduction.

This individual player development program can be added to an existing RHSC program that the young player is registered for, as it focusses on developing the individual players’ technical skills in a non-team environment. This intermediate program will build on the skills the young player has been exposed to during Ball Mastery Introduction.

During the practice each young player will be exposed to a variety of skills and techniques that will improve their comfort and confidence in manipulating the soccer ball.

The boys and girls will see improvement in the following skills; Physical Literacy, various types of turns, ball control, tricks and feints, inside and outside cuts, changing direction, dribbling and juggling.

Each player will get an opportunity to apply these skills in a game environment towards the end of each practice. This competitive, learning environment will allow the young player to experience and practice their decision-making skills.

On successful completion of the program each player will receive a Ball Master Diploma. This diploma will allow the player to be eligible for the next stage in the Ball Mastery Program, Ball Mastery Advanced.

BALL MASTERY ADVANCED 

For Boys and Girls ages 8 to 12 years old who have successfully completed Ball Mastery Intermediate program.

This individual player development program can be added to an existing RHSC program that the young player is registered for, as it focuses on developing the individual players’ technical skills in a non-team environment. This advanced  program will build on the skills the young player has been exposed to during Ball Mastery Intermediate program.

During the practice each young player will be exposed to a variety of skills and techniques that will improve their comfort and confidence in manipulating the soccer ball whilst under pressure from an an opponent.

The boys and girls will see improvement in the following techniques and skills; Physical Literacy, receiving the ball from various angles and trajectories, having to use various parts of their bodies to bring the ball under control,various types of spins and turns to evade pressure, receiving the ball as it bounces and drops from the air whilst under pressure, single and double scissors, multi step overs whilst travelling faster,inside and outside cuts, changing direction quickly with the ball.

Each player will get an opportunity to apply these techniques in a game environment during each practice. This competitive, learning environment will allow the young player to experience and practice their decision-making skills in the selection and application of the required technique based on the situation they encounter.

On successful completion of the program each player will receive a Advanced Ball Mastery Diploma.

2018 & 2019 INDOOR BALL MASTERY SCHEDULE

Our Ball Mastery program is offered to U6 to U9 players  those born from 2012 to 2009. The Indoor program will run for 10 weeks, consisting of 55 minute sessions on Wednesdays or Thursdays. The fall program will run from the beginning of November to mid-January, winter runs end of January to mid-April inside the Richmond Green Sports Dome.

BALL MASTERY COACHES

Players in our Ball Mastery program will experience quality training from qualified coaches who all have experience playing the game at professional or national levels. Our Ball Mastery coaching staff bring with them outstanding knowledge of the game along with extensive experience playing the game at a high level. The program will be led by former professional and National Team soccer players:

 Coach Henrich Svetko, who will oversee all of the coaches in the program, played  professional soccer in Slovakia and has previously coached the Ontario Provincial team where  he led the U15 and U16 boys to the Canadian National Championships. He also holds both his CSA National 'A' and UEFA National 'A' coaching licenses.

RHSC encourages all of our members to continually be active and enjoy a healthy lifestyle. It is because of this that our program not only places an emphasis on skill development, but on physical activity and fitness as well.
