RHSC Player and Coach Selected for 2018 Generation Adidas Real Madrid Program

March 27, 2018

Richmond Hill Soccer Club’s Nathan Pleadwell and Diarmuid Salvadori have both been selected to participate in the 2018 Soccer Express and Generation Adidas Real Madrid Program.

Participants who have been selected by Soccer Express for this exciting program will travel to Madrid, Spain, this August to train with qualified and experienced professional Real Madrid Foundation coaches. This experience takes place at Real Madrid's state of the art training facilities and provides a first-hand experience into the daily life at one of the top professional youth academies in the world.

Nathan, who plays with our 2002 OPDL Boys, has been selected as one of 16 players from across Canada to train and compete with this program at the Real Madrid Academy. Nathan’s journey in soccer is quite remarkable, as he managed to work his way from RHSC’s recreational league, through our Rep team and up to the OPDL and Ontario Provincial program within a span of only two years. You can listen to the full story of Nathan’s impressive soccer journey on RHSC’s recent podcast.

Diarmuid, who is the Head Coach of our 2002 Rep boys, has been invited to fill one of only two coaching spots for this summer’s program. Diarmuid carries with him over 30 years of coaching experience from around the globe, which includes a two year stint coaching in Australia. He holds a CSA National B license, US National Youth license and recently completed the United Soccer Coaches Premier Diploma.

Each year the top Adidas and Soccer Express youth soccer clubs nationwide have the exclusive opportunity to nominate players and coaches to participate in this Generation Adidas International Select program.

Congratulations to Nathan and Diarmuid on their selections!
