RHSC Teams Shine at Annual AC Douglas Tournament

August 09, 2016

Richmond Hill Soccer Club was well represented in the 54th Annual AC Douglas Tournament in Niagara Falls over the weekend, as both our 2002 Girls Green and 2001 Boys Green teams put on wonderful displays.

Our 2002 Girls, coached by Tim Rennie and Shahin Tarkavennejad, finished the weekend as tournament finalists. The girls booked their spot in the final after playing 4 Round Robin games and finishing second place in their group. In the final, they faced-off against the host Niagara Falls Titans, who proved to be just a little too strong to overcome.

Led by Head Coach Alex Pizzitelli, our 2001 Boys were drawn into Group A with Barrie, Malton, and Niagara Falls. The boys played terrific throughout the tournament, but were unlucky not to advance past the semifinals as they were narrowly edged on penalties.

Congratulations to our Raiders on their great performances!
