RHSC Goalkeeper Coaches
Rasih Pala - Head Goalkeeper Coach
Since early 2017, coach Rasih has been responsible for working with all goalkeepers in our OPDL and REP programs. Rasih has implemented a standardized training schedule and learning curriculum for all our goalkeepers. He came to the club with an incredible amount of experience both coaching and playing.
His playing experience as a goalkeeper is most notable, as he spent two years playing professionally in the Turkish Second Division after spending 4 seasons as an NCAA Division 1 athlete at Northern Illinois University playing both goalkeeper and attacking midfield. He also represented Canada at the CONCACAF U17 Championships and won a National Championship with the Ontario Provincial Team. He spent his entire youth career playing for local clubs within the greater Toronto area.
Rasih has previously served as Head Coach and Captain for the Toronto Police Men's Soccer Team for 10 years winning 4 North American Championships and winning a Silver medal at the 2017 World Championships. Rasih spent time as an associate coach with Northern Illinois University, as well as our Club's Men's Provincial Team for 4 years.
Rasih is currently in the process of starting his CSA National B licence. He also has recent experience in facilitating the Ontario Goalkeeper Diploma course for coaches throughout the province.
Nora Abolins - Assistant Goalkeeper Coach
Nora has had an extensive playing career spanning internationally from NCAA Division 1 University, League 1 Ontario, Swedish professional leagues Damallsvenskan and Elittetan and the Latvian Women’s National Team.
Nora began her competitive career at the Toronto Lady Lynx Juniors Academy team, playing part time striker and part time goalkeeper in the Super-Y League out of the USA. After being selected for the league wide ODP camp it was quick work before she dedicated herself to goalkeeping. Earning a full athletic scholarship to the University of Detroit Mercy, Nora excelled at the Division 1 level earning All-First team, tournament team, second team, freshman team, and Goalkeeper of the year accolades. She also set the school career shutout record in three seasons, before transferring to Western Kentucky University for her final season. Finishing off at WKU Nora ended her collegiate career 25th overall nation wide for career shut outs (33) as well as single season GAA (0.68) and multiple conference accolades at both schools.
After tearing her ACL Nora rebounded to play in League 1 Ontario with Durham United FC, helping the team win the league while picking up Goalkeeper of the Year and league MVP honours. Making the leap to the professional side, Nora played for Swedish sides QBIK Karlstad and Ostersunds DFF in the second tier Elitettan. Establishing herself as a dominant number one goalkeeper, she was then able to make the jump to Swedish Damellsvenskan team KIF Orebro.
While in Europe Nora was also apart of the Latvian Women’s National team participating in the Baltic Cup and the Turkish Women’s National Team Tournament. Although being an active player Nora has experience coaching both privately and with several clubs within the GTA.
Nora has completed her Ontario Soccer Goalkeeper Diploma Course.
Emile Marino - Assistant Goalkeeper Coach
Emile has just recently joined the RHSC goalkeeping staff and brings a tremendous amount of experience from the United States. Emile spent 5 years working with the NSCAA to achieve his Advanced National Goalkeeping Licence. Emile has also completed his Ontario Soccer Goalkeeper Diploma Course and is currently CSA National B trained.
Emile had an opportunity to work with several NCAA Women's and Men's soccer programs while spending time in the United States. He has been a goalkeeping coach at King United City Soccer Club and also has experience playing the position in various men's leagues in the greater Toronto area. He spent his youth soccer career playing goalkeeper in Toronto.
