2002 Boys Black Reach Semifinals at AC Douglas Tournament

September 11, 2017

Richmond Hill Soccer Club’s 2002 Boys Black, coached by Shahin Tarkavennejad, reached the semifinals of the recent AC Douglas Tournament in Niagara Falls.

Our Raiders were competing in the Gold Division, which was the tournament’s top tier. After an impressive showing in the Round Robin, the boys advanced to the quarter-finals where they were matched up with the Kemptville Kougars. After a scoreless regulation, our Raiders would seal the victory on penalties.

That victory would take the boys into the semi-finals, where they would come up against a tough Welland Wizards squad. Despite missing a number of players through injuries, our Raiders played a terrific game but would fall to Welland, who would eventually go on to win the tournament.

Congratulations to our Raiders on a wonderful showing!
