Laws of the Game

WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW FOR GAMES

The basic compulsory equipment of a player comprises the following separate items:

  • A Jersey or Shirt with Sleeves - if undergarments are worn, the colour of the sleeve must be the same main colour as the sleeve of the jersey or shirt
  • Shorts - if undershorts or tights are worn, they must be of the same main colour as the shorts
  • Stockings (socks) - if tape or similar material is applied externally it must be the same colour as that part of the sock it is applied to
  • Shin Guards - are covered entirely by the socks, are made of rubber, plastic or a similar suitable material and provide a reasonable degree of protection

No Jewellery Allowed

A player must not use equipment or wear anything that is dangerous to them-self or another player, including any kind of jewellery. In regards to jewellery on the field:

All items of jewellery (necklaces, rings, bracelets, earrings, leather bands, rubber bands, etc.) are strictly forbidden and must be removed. Using tape to cover jewellery is not acceptable. Referees are also prohibited from wearing jewellery (except for a watch or similar device for timing the match). The players are to be inspected before the match begins and substitutes before they enter the field of play. If a player is discovered to be wearing unauthorized clothing or jewellery during play, the referee must inform the player that the item in question must be removed, order the player to leave the field of play at the next stoppage if he/she is unable or unwilling to comply, or caution the player if he/she wilfully refuses to comply.

    Discipline

The RHSC In-House Appeal process is as follows:

In order to appeal a discipline decision, an RHSC Appeal Process Form must be filled out and emailed to Brennen Guy at brennen@richmondhillsoccer.com.

Prior to the appeal being heard, the Appellant must pay a $75 fee to RHSC. If the appeal is granted, the fee will be returned to the player/team official. If the appeal is not won, the $75 fee will not be returned.

The Appellant must ensure they provide clear and substantial evidence to prove one or more of the grounds for appeal. These grounds for appeal are outlined in the RHSC Appeal Process Form.

All appeal hearings with be held on Thursdays at 7:00 pm. Special consideration will be taken for players/team officials who are unavailable on Thursday evenings.

If you wish to appeal to our governing Association, please read the York Region Soccer Association Policy.
