Olivia Burvill Commits to St. Thomas University

Richmond Hill Soccer Club is proud to congratulate Olivia Burvill on her commitment to St. Thomas University in New Brunswick, where she will continue her academic and soccer career with the STU Tommies women's soccer program.

A talented midfielder, Olivia will study Business and Social Entrepreneurship while competing under Head Coach David Itoafa. She chose St. Thomas because of its welcoming culture, strong sense of community, and supportive environment both on and off the field.

"The team is a very close-knit environment where everyone wants each other to succeed," said Olivia. "The coaching staff makes sure every player feels welcomed and is as clear as possible on their roles. Academically, it's a smaller university where connections are important and you feel like you aren't just a number. Everyone has your best interests and wants you to do well."

Olivia is excited to take the next step in her soccer journey and embrace the challenge of competing at the collegiate level. She hopes to make an immediate impact with the Tommies while helping the team push toward a playoff berth.

Having joined RHSC at just 10 years old, Olivia has spent the majority of her development within the Raiders pathway. Looking back, she says some of her favourite memories have come from the friendships she built through the club and the opportunity to be part of the growth of the women's game at RHSC.

"So many of the girls from my first team are still my friends today," she said. "I'm grateful RHSC has given us the opportunity to grow the women's game with OPL. Being able to play with familiar faces from years ago while also playing with friends from other teams has been amazing."

Throughout her time at RHSC, Olivia credits the club's coaching staff with helping her grow both as a player and as a person.

"RHSC has given me so many opportunities within soccer," she explained. "From coaching and developing leadership skills to being organized and driven at every session, the coaches have always pushed me to be my best. They've helped me understand my strengths and how to use them effectively in games."

Olivia also recognized two individuals who played a significant role in her development outside of RHSC. She thanked Asa from PHYSELITE for his unwavering support and commitment to helping athletes reach their potential, and Coach Angelo from Pure Touch Soccer for giving her the confidence to pursue the next level and helping her see the game in new ways.

Everyone at Richmond Hill Soccer Club would like to congratulate Olivia on this exciting accomplishment. We are incredibly proud of everything she has achieved throughout her time as a Raider and look forward to following her success with the STU Tommies in the years ahead.
